Nomi Stolzenberg and David N. Myers, authors of the book American Shtetl will present via Zoom a history of the Satmar sect of Orthodox Judaism and their settlement into Orange County. Their book paints a richly textured portrait of daily life in Kiryas Joel, exploring the community's guiding religious, social, and economic norms.
